Team Lead- Weld (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in the development and execution of the department’s training plan.
• Ensure all quality checks and paperwork are completed before products leave the department.
• Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Participate in 5S improvements, Visual Factory Improvements, and reduce setup times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Highlight critical issues in the value stream to operations management and drive resolutions.
• Communicate daily updates to value stream leaders.
• Inform maintenance about work orders through MMS and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Ensure the safe and timely production of scheduled deliverables.
• Assist in evaluating and disciplining employees, responding to Corrective Action Requests, and finding root cause solutions.
• Identify and address unsafe acts or conditions.
• Diagnose and assist with machinery and equipment malfunctions.
• Participate in Gemba walks and prepare LDMS boards as needed.
• Create and update standard work instructions.
• Occasionally assist in the department to maintain workflow.
• Act as a certified First Responder when trained.
• Adhere to ISO-9000 system procedures and ensure compliance.
• Model positive team engagement and morale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, shop orders, blueprints, and use a tape measure.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including efficient time management, good attendance, taking/accepting accountability, making ethical decisions, being customer-focused, and working effectively with others.
• May require operating a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Continuous lifting/moving up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting/pulling up to 100 pounds with wheels (pallet jack).
• Standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Talking, hearing, and exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, high places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus tied to organizational performance.
