Team Lead, Tank & Canopy, 2nd Shift

Essential Competencies

• Oversee work assignments given to the Material Handlers and provide assistance towards determining and meeting short-term departmental objectives.
• Delegate job assignments and determine priorities based on available labor and workload.
• Assure that Materials personnel execute job duties and demonstrate personal conduct in a manner that is compliant with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Take appropriate actions when necessary to assure the efficient and compliant operation to our internal and external customers.
• Communicate with department management, traffic, planning and/or shipping associates and take the appropriate action in matters pertaining to accuracy, safety, and housekeeping.
• Observe and communicate unsafe conditions to traffic and /or supervision and take corrective actions.
• Provide assistance with problem solving for shipping personnel and other designees for scanning and case location questions.
• Demonstrate ability to adjust to changing demands and priorities on a constant basis.
• Aid in planning for and execution of quarterly physical inventories.
• Absorb personnel meet or exceed the minimum number of trailers/cases loaded daily, perform root cause analysis when mistakes are discovered, and perform 6S audits.
• Ensure company safety, quality and performance procedures are met in a safe, clean and organized setting and offer recommendations to improve these standards.
• Safely operate lift truck or hand truck to move products when necessary.
• Occasionally, and at times heavy, overtime and extended hours are required including weekends.

Minimum Quantifiable Competencies

• 1 to 2 years minimum related experience and/or training.
• Ability to operate a forklift and operate safely.
• Minimum 4 years warehouse experience.

Preferred Competencies

• Warehouse supervisory experience preferred.
• AS400 Experience preferred.

Strengths Needed for This Role

• Ability to lift 50 pounds plus bending, twisting or lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces, must be able to push and pull cases in excess of 200lbs to 800lbs repetitively.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, and/or kneel.
