Team Lead- Production USA (Crew D)

About the role

The Team Lead- Production combines the roles of Production Technician (level III) and Team Leader within production operations. This role is suitable for experienced First Solar Associates with technical competence and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment to meet quality and productivity standards.
• Complete required training and ensure team members are trained and validated.
• Lead teams and provide on-the-job training.
• Operate forklifts with proper certification and certification.
• Interface with equipment computers to monitor parameters and alarms.
• Monitor process data using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and make decisions based on procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem-solving and test execution.
• Collect and report data as requested.
• Communicate effectively with team members and leadership during shift changes.
• Ensure proper inventory levels and waste disposal.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preference for Associates degree or technical certificates.
• Internal experience: 6 months as a Production Technician I in any production area.
• External experience: 1 year as a Team Lead or Supervisory role.
• Good safety and quality standards.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Math skills for understanding and applying SPC concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
• Fundamental knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability to use simple tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to use forklifts with proper certification.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with physical demands including lifting, walking, and reaching.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain/maintain forklift certification and/or walk behind forklift certification, if required.
• Must comply with all safety standards and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
