About the role
The Hershey Company Y&S Lancaster plant is a Non-Union facility producing Licorice Products such as Twizzlers, Nibs, Pull & Peel, and Jolly Rancher Ropes in a high-speed complex environment. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for financial planning, directing, and managing the activities of hourly production personnel while safely and effectively meeting departmental needs. You must be flexible for all shifts and weekend work.
With minimal direction from senior leadership, you will:
- Propose, plan, and execute projects to eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problems.
- Independently execute high-complexity projects with significant impact on current and/or future business interests, spanning people, procedures, policies, finances, equipment, processes, and products.
- Oversee financial planning and direct the activities of hourly production personnel to meet departmental needs safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the area of responsibility supports all plant goals daily and weekly, reviewing results with staff.
- Coordinate and administer daily interaction between the assigned area and all other plant departments, including peers across shifts.
- Ensure personnel are properly qualified, trained, and motivated to work productively both individually and as part of a team.
- Ensure compliance with food quality, safety, and employee safety standards; identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Adhere to administrative and reporting procedures, including overtime and handbook provisions.
- Coordinate daily labor staffing in alignment with budgeted staffing.
- Document notification requests in SAP PM, follow up, and prioritize with maintenance and other shifts.
- Input data into SAP, verify QA documentation, and validate employee time cards.
- Analyze information, follow up on exceptions, and identify opportunities.
- Foster a continuous improvement mindset, elevating new ideas (both your own and those of employees) and executing plans to positively impact plant operations and goals.

- Ability to read and interpret production performance reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or a high-speed, complex environment required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
