Team Lead Product Lifecycle Management
About the role
ASML US brings together creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team you will lead is responsible for the introduction, industrialization, and phase-out strategies of new products, as well as engineering sustaining activities on existing products.
In this role, you’ll determine and manage the supply chain project plan for platforms, new products, associated introduction types (new builds, installs, and upgrades), industrialization, and phase-out strategies. You will guide, coordinate, and mentor your team to meet program deliverables and deadlines using a mix of technical, creative, and interpersonal skills.
This position is located on-site in San Jose, California and requires in-person attendance for work-related events, trainings, and meetings to ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. A flexible workplace arrangement allows for remote work up to two days a week.
Responsibilities
- Manage concurrent supply chain introduction of new product designs globally, from technical feasibility to ramp and release-for-volume, including critical path management for Bill of Material readiness, technical documentation readiness, and material availability for prototype, pilot, and volume systems and spares.
- Plan, mobilize, and support resources of the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) supplier collaboration teams to fulfill project plans.
- Manage worldwide material availability, balancing customer service levels, inventory, quality, costs, and risks. Identify bottlenecks, prepare decisions, and take actions involving engineering, suppliers, factories, and field teams to manage the critical path for time-to-market and ramp.
- Ensure the PLM team takes full accountability and ownership in designated cross-sectoral Project Delivery Teams (DT) to enable successful New Product Introduction (NPI) engagement and industrialization at suppliers by driving quality and timing of deliverables.
- Work closely with SS&P/PLM-PL teams to maintain up-to-date and complete project overviews for respective Product Teams (PDT) and Module Delivery Units (MDU), addressing and signaling risks for timely and quality execution.
- Proactively manage resource planning and staffing of PLM project coordinators to optimize capacity and capabilities.
- Own operational processes and KPIs tied to material availability, inventory management, end-of-life, and excess and obsolescence.
- Build and lead a high-performing PLM team, developing talent and capabilities to achieve expertise, ownership, and execution excellence.
- Foster global collaboration and learning, working effectively across regions and cultures to meet operational and strategic business needs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or similar technical education preferred.
- 10+ years of work experience, including 5 years in new product introductions, preferably in high-tech, low-volume environments.

Context of the position
The mission of the SS&P Product Lifecycle Management team is to drive ASML product roadmaps into lean supply chain solutions. PLM is responsible for securing material availability for ASML’s new systems during the proto phase, early shipping, and initial ramp-up. This involves planning and releasing new and changing materials (initiated by Engineering Changes) throughout the logistics chain—from system development through suppliers and manufacturing to customers.
In a fast-paced industry, PLM is involved in system development from day one, defining logistics requirements and identifying potential risks in suppliers’ design and production processes. Through concurrent engineering, this occurs while the system is still being developed, so specifications are subject to constant change. PLM drives the timely delivery of Bills of Materials for new or changed materials and technical documentation during development, ensuring the supply chain and in-field infrastructures can handle new products.

Pay
The current base annual salary range for this role is $113,250–$169,875. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors unique to each candidate, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities, and pay relative to other team members.
