About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Networks, the Team Lead ensures the stable operation of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Network through a technical team of specialists. This role participates in planning, coordination, and implementation activities to ensure network operation, maintenance, and expansion align with organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The Team Lead applies proven communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate with the network team, other ITS teams, and the SaskPolytech community, ensuring the smooth operation of the Network as a mission-critical resource.
Responsibilities
- Design, oversee, and implement all aspects of network systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and call center technologies. Ensure continued operation and performance of these systems.
- Collaborate with Security and other ITS teams to administer firewalls and internal network security technology, protecting Saskatchewan Polytechnic data and systems.
- Guide the development and evolution of Network architecture to meet organizational needs and leverage technology improvements for increased business value and resiliency.
Requirements
- Two-year diploma in Information Technology (foreign education must have Canadian equivalency certification).
- Eight years of direct work experience in an enterprise information technology environment, with demonstrated expert knowledge in two or more of the following areas:
- Enterprise Applications
- Datacenter Management
- Infrastructure Services
- Networking
- Cyber Security
- Identity and Access Management
- Client Device Management and Support
- Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of networking protocols, devices, tools, and wireless technology.
- Expert technical experience in network design, configuration, implementation, monitoring, and support.
- Project management skills to plan, organize, and oversee work.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams.
- Expert analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong customer focus and a commitment to valuing diversity.
Pay
Bi-weekly salary range: $3,187.08 - $3,808.54. Temporary market stipend of $7,000 per annum.
