Job Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
• One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front Desk experience preferred
• BLS required at the time of hire
• One of the following certifications required at the time of hire:
• CCMA
• CMA
• RMA
• NCMA
• NRCMA
• In lieu of an approved MA Certification, one of the following is accepted:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN/RN
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date

Essential Functions

• Conduct patient registration
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists
• Answer patient questions and keep them informed
• Inform technical staff of patient flow
• Prepare patients for examination
• Conduct preliminary physical tests
• Perform point of care testing
• Stock and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area
• Complete order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels
• Scan charts to patient files
• Answer phone calls and sort mail
• Conduct courtesy call-backs
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Follow operating instructions for equipment
• Maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs
• Document daily controls and calibrate equipment

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Basic Medical Assistant duties
• Quick typing ability and basic computer knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Detail-oriented, relies on experience and judgment
• Able to interact and treat all persons fairly, respectfully, and sensitively
