Team Lead - Materials Management Greater Heights

About the Role

Position responsible for mentoring, training, and scheduling the work of employees in the Materials Management department at Memorial Hermann's Greater Heights location. This role supports our vision of creating healthier communities by ensuring efficient and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Performs necessary materials management duties: stocking, counting items received, loading, and shipping.
• Troubleshoots problems and resolves issues related to orders.
• Trains and acts as a mentor to Materials Management Attendants.
• Prepares work schedules, assists the manager with performance issues, and provides input on performance evaluations.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and productivity of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals contributing to organizational success.
• Serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
• Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• At least five (5) years of Materials Management experience.
• Basic math skills and advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems.
• Advanced leadership and problem-solving skills.
