Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and execution of the department’s training plan and cross-training initiatives.
  • Maintain quality checks and ensure paperwork is completed before products leave the department.
  • Support lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in 5S improvements, Visual Factory enhancements, and reduce changeover/setup times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including open aisles and good housekeeping.
  • Highlight critical issues in the value stream to operations management and drive resolutions.
  • Communicate daily updates on relevant information to Value Stream Leaders.
  • Inform maintenance about work orders through MMS and coordinate with maintenance personnel to meet departmental needs.
  • Ensure the safe and timely production of scheduled deliverables by managing resources effectively.
  • Assist the Value Stream Leader with employee activities, including evaluations, disciplinary actions, and corrective action requests.
  • Identify and address unsafe acts or conditions, both within the department and across the plant.
  • Diagnose and assist with machinery and equipment malfunctions.
  • Participate in Gemba walks and prepare LDMS boards as needed.
  • Create and update standard work instructions.
  • Occasionally assist in the department to maintain workflow and flow of work.
  • Act as a certified first responder when trained.
  • Apply ISO-9000 system procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Model team engagement and morale within the production team.
  • Behave according to TCF Core Values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies, procedures, work instructions, and standards.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with coworkers.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Confidentiality of employee information.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Continuous lifting/moving up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and pulling up to 100 pounds with wheels (pallet jack).
  • Continuous standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Talking, hearing, and exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, high places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
