About the Role
The Operational Team Lead oversees and guides a team of distribution employees to achieve goals and maintain high standards of quality. This role combines technical expertise, leadership skills, and effective communication to drive team success.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership on employee scheduling, labor efficiency, work instructions, and throughput.
- Collaborate with other area leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities and develop employee knowledge in multiple skill sets.
- Implement work instructions to ensure employee knowledge and accuracy are up to date.
- Collaborate with purchasing, customer service, and shipping to monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for all parts.
- Effectively communicate maintenance issues and repair or replace consumables as needed.
- Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets.
- Act as the initial point of contact and primary support resource for employees, addressing and resolving issues they encounter.
- Perform other related or non-related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or a combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 2 years in a distribution setting with some leadership responsibilities; 3-5 years preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in kitting functions within a distribution center preferred.
- Ability to become certified on powered industrial equipment.

Supervisor Responsibilities
Lead as a working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and serves as a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.
Physical Requirements
- Subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Physical activities include: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Requires close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection, using measurement devices, and assembling parts.
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and warehouse hazards.
