Team Lead Firearms

About the role

The Team Leader provides daily direction to the associates in the firearms department, supporting the Group Sales or Department Manager in achieving departmental goals and maintaining a positive, harassment-free work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in firearm sales compliance and departmental operations
• Directs associates in firearm safe handling, safety, and customer experience standards
• Prepares to-do lists and executes merchandising directives
• Maintains a pleasant shopping experience and staffs the department with service-oriented associates
• Resolves customer and associate issues, maintains high customer service standards, and assists in interviewing and training new hires
• Coordinates special events, maintains pricing and UPC integrity, and ensures proper display and pricing of advertised items
• Assists the Group Sales or Department Manager in supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluations
• Provides product expertise through ongoing training and product demonstrations
• Aids in customer decision-making by identifying and evaluating customer needs and making product recommendations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of retail sales experience
• Experience in supervisory roles a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, and percentages
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with PC-based software and equipment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Physical Requirements

• Constantly stand and/or walk during shift
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and operate machinery and power tools
• Occasionally lift and move objects up to 100 pounds
• Work in tight and confined spaces and noisy environments

Independent Judgement

Performs duties within the scope of company policies and procedures, analyzes problems, and adapts guidelines to achieve desired results. Exercises independent judgment in making recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
