Team Lead - Firearms

About the role

The Team Leader supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in leading firearm sales and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies. They provide direction and guidance to Sales Outfitters, manage daily operations, and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in firearm sales compliance and departmental goals.
• Directs and guides Sales Outfitters in firearm safe handling, operations, and customer experience standards.
• Prepares to-do lists, executes merchandising directives, and maintains plan-o-grams.
• Maintains a pleasant shopping experience and assists in staffing the department with service-oriented associates.
• Resolves customer and associate issues, maintains high customer service standards, and assists in interviewing and training new hires.
• Coordinates special events, ensures pricing and UPC integrity, determines assortments, and manages inventory.
• Assists the Group Sales or Department Manager in supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluations.
• Conducts product demonstrations and assists in making buying decisions for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: 2 to 4 Years in Retail Sales, Supervisor experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, read and analyze reports, present information, and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with PC-based software and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers, and corporate staff.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Occasionally communicate with others to exchange information.
• Occasionally repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.

• Occasionally work in noisy environments.

Independent Judgement

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired results. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
