Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates the activities of shipping and/or receiving and operators for quality goals and productivity.
• Trains internal employees and temporary staff per quality and customer specifications.
• Provides personnel day‑to‑day supervision and assists in performance management by escalating performance issues or concerns to the Supervisor/Manager.
• Ensures company/department processes and protocols are followed and resolves issues.
• Recommends changes in staffing levels to coincide with work volumes to the Supervisor as needed.
• Ensures supplies and tools are available to employees.
• Recommends needed changes/updates to procedure documentation or manuals to the Supervisor as needed.
• Recognizes and reacts to potential accident‑causing situations from all aspects of the job safely.
• Communicates effectively with supervisor and management regarding issues and equipment problems as necessary.
• Maintains security and escorts any unauthorized persons from the warehouse areas.
• Maintains and conveys a positive attitude toward the safety of self and co‑workers.
• Remains well‑informed of and complies with department and facility rules and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School education or 2‑3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills required.
• Data processing, PC experience, and/or order entry experience preferred (Word & Excel).
• Ability to set priorities based on workload, current production schedule, and turnaround requirements.
• Ability to recognize and communicate potential processing and/or problems.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure of turnaround and quality constraints.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and staff.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Regularly able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in various temperature conditions.

Internal Qualifications

• No more than 6 attendance points.
• Efficiency and quality goals met for the previous 3 months.
• Must be in current role for 6+ months.
