About the role

We are looking for a Team Lead Data Analytics & Business Intelligence to lead our data team and drive the execution of our data strategy. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical involvement and reports directly to the Head of Data and Platforms. You will lead a team of four to five people (including external contributors) and work in a strongly cross-functional setup, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business—actively shaping how data-driven decision-making becomes the norm at our company.

Responsibilities

  • Disciplinary and functional leadership of a team consisting of data analysts, a data scientist, and external developers.
  • Driving the ongoing development and execution of our data strategy—from a current-state assessment to a multi-year strategy.
  • Translating business priorities into concrete, measurable analytics use cases and data-driven decision foundations.
  • Driving the shift from descriptive to predictive and forward-looking analytics across the entire organization.
  • Expanding and maintaining our data platform, built on Databricks as our central data warehouse, with data ingestion via Fivetran and transformation via dbt.
  • Leading the development of our Power BI reporting landscape, including data models and KPI standardization.
  • Connecting internal and external data sources into the platform, including SAP data (e.g. S/4HANA and modules such as Ariba or SuccessFactors), working closely with our Infrastructure team.
  • Actively promoting a data-driven culture across the company, including the ongoing development of our Data Catalog and our Data Mesh approach with clearly defined Data Owners.
  • Helping to shape the platform's readiness for future needs such as real-time/streaming data, Machine Learning, AI-driven analytics, and self-service BI.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in Data Analytics, BI, or Data Engineering, at a mid-to-senior level.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams, including people management responsibility.
  • Experience working in mid-sized or internationally structured companies.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts such as Data Catalogs, Data Ownership, and Data Mesh.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks as a data warehouse / lakehouse platform.
  • Experience with data integration and transformation tools such as Fivetran and dbt.
  • Experience with Power BI, including data modeling.
  • Good English skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP data integration (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) or knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud.
  • Familiarity with real-time/streaming data architectures (e.g. Kafka or comparable technologies), Machine Learning, or AI-driven analytics.

Benefits

  • Holiday and Christmas bonus
  • Children's packages and occasional gifts
  • Flexible work arrangements—this is a hybrid role with a high remote share. We value regular in-person collaboration, so occasional on-site days are part of the role at our locations in Kleinheubach (Germany) and Nowy Tomyśl or Poznań (Poland).
  • Attractive discounts on products (dry dog and cat food)
  • LUX MED private medical care
  • Group insurance and accident insurance
  • Free foreign language learning
  • MultiSport card
  • Fresh vegetables and fruits in the office
  • Work (and team-building) in an international environment, alongside experts from Poland, Germany, Tanzania, and Ukraine
  • Continuous professional and personal development through dedicated training sessions and development programs
  • An inspiring and supportive atmosphere, as well as friendly working conditions with access to modern tools and technologies
