Team Lead, Contract Logistics (1st Shift) - Atlanta GA

About the role

The Warehouse Team Lead assists in assigning work to warehouse personnel, providing on-the-job training and feedback, champions safety awareness, and ensures jobs are completed correctly and efficiently. This role helps identify better performers and those needing additional training, assists in scheduling and organizing work, and coordinates the unloading of inbound and loading of outbound shipments. The Team Lead also supports inventory control, safety, and cost-effective handling of customer products.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments, load outbound shipments, and stage products in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure inventory control and storage accuracy through cycle counts and physical audits.
• Support the Shipping and Receiving Clerk and team members as needed.
• Perform material handler duties as directed by senior team leads or supervisors.
• Address product damage, quality, and safety issues; perform housekeeping activities.
• Assemble crates and move loose materials to containers as directed.
• Plan and organize work schedules to ensure efficient job assignment.
• Cover shift responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor or senior team lead.
• Provide hands-on training to associates through demonstration of assigned tasks.
• Contribute to process improvements as a junior specialist in operational or administrative processes.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience.
• 2 years of forklift/material handling skills and equipment certification.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Basic math, computer, and data entry skills; legible handwriting.
• Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on experience and product fitness.
• Professional and positive communication skills; ability to lead others.

Pay

$24.75 per hour.
