Summary The Team Lead, Client Advisor is an experienced, licensed insurance professional responsible for providing day-to-day insurance expertise, coaching, and sales support to a team of Client Advisors. This role serves as a hands-on resource to help Client Advisors strengthen their insurance knowledge, navigate quoting and coverage questions, and deliver accurate, consultative recommendations to customers.Working closely with the Manager, Client Advisor, the Team Lead helps bridge insurance knowledge and experience gaps across the sales team through real-time guidance, training, coaching, and support with complex customer or carrier situations. The Team Lead promotes consistent execution of quoting, advising, binding, cross-selling, and compliance standards while helping Client Advisors develop the skills and confidence necessary to succeed. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities Serve as a day-to-day insurance subject-matter resource for an assigned team of Client Advisors, providing guidance on quoting, coverage options, carrier requirements, underwriting guidelines, and insurance best practices.Coach and mentor Client Advisors to strengthen insurance knowledge, sales effectiveness, product understanding, and confidence in advising customers.Assist Client Advisors with complex or challenging quotes and customer scenarios, helping identify appropriate coverage solutions and next steps.Support Client Advisors in evaluating customer needs and recommending appropriate home, auto, and other personal lines insurance products.Reinforce consultative sales practices, including identifying and presenting appropriate cross-sell and bundled insurance opportunities.Provide real-time support and guidance throughout the quoting, application, binding, and policy issuance process.Conduct call reviews, quote reviews, and pipeline reviews as needed to identify coaching opportunities and reinforce quality and compliance expectations.Deliver individual and team-based training on insurance products, carrier guidelines, quoting processes, coverage concepts, systems, sales practices, and related topics.Help onboard and develop new Client Advisors by providing hands-on insurance guidance and reinforcing established processes and best practices.Stay current on insurance products, carrier appetite, underwriting requirements, industry developments, and regulatory requirements, and communicate relevant updates to the team.Help ensure insurance applications and policy submissions are accurate, complete, timely, and consistent with carrier and company requirements.Serve as an initial escalation resource for insurance-related questions and more complex client situations, partnering with the Manager, Client Advisor when additional support or escalation is required.Reinforce standard operating procedures for quoting, advising, binding, cross-selling, documentation, and customer communication.Support a client-first culture focused on accurate advice, responsiveness, trust, relationship building, and an exceptional customer experience.Partner with the Manager, Client Advisor to identify recurring knowledge or skill gaps and recommend training or coaching opportunities for the team.Share observations and feedback with the Manager regarding team development needs, process opportunities, and insurance-related trends.Collaborate with Client Advisors, leadership, training teams, and other internal partners to support operational efficiency and agency objectives.Maintain detailed and accurate records in applicable CRM and agency management systems.Maintain professional standards consistent with company policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and brand expectations.Maintain flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, as business needs require.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Education And/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field preferredActive Property & Casualty insurance license required; additional state licenses as requiredContinuing education in insurance, sales, leadership, or related fields preferred5+ years of experience in the insurance industry required, with a strong focus on personal lines (home, auto, and related products)Prior experience in a high-volume sales, agency, or call center environment strongly preferredDemonstrated success in insurance quoting, advising, and policy placementExperience mentoring, training, or informally coaching peers preferredProven ability to handle complex insurance scenarios and carrier underwriting guidelinesStrong understanding of insurance products, coverage structures, and risk assessmentExperience working with CRM and agency management systems preferredPrior leadership or team lead experience is a plus but not required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Active Property & Casualty insurance license required; additional state licenses as required Work Complexity Problems and issues faced are difficult and complex, and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues and understanding of the financial/mortgage industry. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
