Team Lead
Hourly manufacturing position at the Springfield, MO facility.
Pay
Hourly pay starting at $30.79–$31.68/hour.
Schedule
1st Shift, Monday–Friday (6:30 am–2:30 pm). Weekends and overtime may be required as needed.
About the Role
The Team Leader is primarily responsible for developing equipment and system ownership, ensuring excellent system execution, continuous loss elimination, and delivery of all key business results.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, and problem solving.
- Attend daily performance board meetings.
- Ensure line staffing needs are met.
- Improve the capability of your people.
- Ensure the team is safe; report and/or correct unsafe acts or conditions, perform work safely, and follow GMP and PPE guidelines.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
- Ensure finished product is produced at the correct quality in a sustainable manner.
- Drive continuous improvement of systems and results.
- Accountable for Safety, Health, and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as outlined in policies, procedures, and processes.
- Assess past performance vs. Compelling Business Need (CBN), identify priority losses for the year, and create action plans to deliver the CBN.
- Coach Equipment Owners (EOs) on the floor to enable their ability to achieve individual goals.
- Drive Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) improvement cycles for business results and capability growth.
- Implement standard Daily Direction Setting (DDS) cycle; coach organization on importance of adherence to standards.
- Coach all levels of the organization on critical Daily Management Systems (DMSs) (hands-on, actual usage).
- Implement and coach Safety & Quality Fundamentals; review incident investigations and ensure actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Support supply chain loss analysis/elimination; solve process instability problems.
- Coach necessity and use of Loss to Zero (L2Z).
- Drive cultural change by leading the organization renewal cycle.
- Identify skill gaps in organization and address using task-based training approach.
- Coach use of Standard Work (SW) to eliminate non-value-added (NVA) work; coach link to effort reduction.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Typing skills and ability to manipulate data using spreadsheets.
- Self-managing or history of being a self-starter.
Physical Requirements
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, ascending, and descending.
- Moves up to 60 pounds.
- Holds and grips objects.
- Possesses manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment and disassemble and assemble machinery.
