Team Lead Apparel

About the role

The Team Leader provides daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, focusing on areas such as merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Group Sales or Department Manager in achieving Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage and Payroll Goals.
• Prepares to-do / Task lists.
• Executes all merchandising directives, maintains all plan-o-grams, and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
• Aids in staffing the department with service-oriented associates, conducting interviews, providing training, and preparing performance appraisals.
• Resolves customer and associate issues with the Group Sales Manager and Human Resources Manager.
• Maintains a high level of personal customer service, achieving better than company average customer service results.
• Remains a product expert through ongoing training and product demonstrations.
• Assists the Group Sales Manager in coordinating special events, maintaining pricing and UPC integrity, determining assortments, and ensuring accurate inventory and proper display of advertised items.
• Supports the Group Sales Manager in supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, measuring and evaluating performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
• Provides exceptional customer service by identifying and evaluating customers' needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership and In-Store Pick-up.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years in Retail Sales; supervisory experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, read and analyze reports, present information, and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with PC-based software and systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Occasionally repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
• Occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

• Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
• Occasionally work in noisy environments.

Independent Judgement

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired results. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.

PAY & BENEFITS

Starting Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.75
