Team Lead- 2nd Shift

About the role

The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit offers energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids while investing in our Future Grids portfolio. This position is based in Wendell, NC, reporting to the Production Manager, and leads manufacturing activities on the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Empower the team, coordinate employees to fulfill work schedules, and serve as backup for the Production Manager.
• Oversee cross-training per Production Manager’s direction, maintain the training matrix, and ensure tool calibration is current.
• Demonstrate excellent time management, prioritize tasks, and ensure team adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety policies.
• Conduct SAP transactions throughout the production process, update reports and metrics, and use computer systems for production-related documentation.
• Identify and report production issues, collaborate with other departments to resolve them, and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Apply Lean principles such as 5S/6S, 8 Wastes, VSM, Kaizens, and Standard Work, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of all operations in the area, material flow, and SAP transactions.
• Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Experience in training programs.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Ability to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs, and push/pull/slide heavy material.
• Legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization.

Qualifications

• High School Degree/GED (preferred).
• Experience with 5S/6S (preferred).
• Problem-solving skills (A3, 8D, etc.) (preferred).

Pay

Hourly rate: $24.79 + $1.50 shift differential.

Schedule

2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
