About the Role

The Team Lead position is responsible for motivating, leading, and counseling team members in the Cab Department on 1st Shift. The Group Leader must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the department to effectively lead the team. This role involves making judgments regarding scheduling, work priorities, and material availability; handling employee concerns; and applying problem-solving skills to practical challenges with limited standardization. The position requires interpreting a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform and demonstrate most tasks within the department
• Motivate, assign work, and lead all employees in your department
• Monitor and adjust workflow to meet schedule requirements
• Perform product inspections and evaluate work quality before products leave the area
• Perform inventory of stock and communicate shortages to appropriate personnel (e.g., shortage boards, material planners)
• Maintain and complete all manufacturing paperwork for the area
• Lead by example through hands-on work
• Interact professionally with customers and customer representatives
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
• Ensure regular attendance
• Perform all other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience performing tasks within the department
• No more than two attendance points within the past 12 months

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft products, including Excel and Word
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles such as value streams, 5S, Seven General Types of Waste, and project planning

• Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

• Required senses: sound and balance
• Limb and finger dexterity
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to perform twisting, turning, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions
• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs individually; 36-59 lbs requires a 2-person lift; 60 lbs or greater requires a mechanical lift
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, vest

Work Environment

Working conditions are both inside and outside, with exposure to extreme temperatures (heat and cold) for extended periods. The position is regularly exposed to vibration and loud noises.
