Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of other materials employees and train all new material handler new hires
• Act as the forklift driving tester for those employees seeking a forklift driving license
• Perform work within takt/cycle time
• Perform work per work instructions
• Train and mentor new material handlers on the team
• Monitor/test new forklift drivers and recertifications
• Provide and process movement of material to point of use
• Keep work area clean by disposing empty boxes and cardboard, as well as keeping material around the assembly line in order and neat
• Inform proper personnel of material shortage
• Check in and place materials from other cells
• Operate forklift
• Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area
• Practice 5Ss

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in material handling

Preferred Qualifications

• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of JDE Material Handler Menu
• Certified forklift operator
• Train others
• Test forklift drivers
• Ability to direct the work of others on the team
