About the role

Merrill Team Financial Advisor Business Development Program trains individuals to become Merrill Wealth Management Financial Advisors. The program focuses on developing a book of business, client relationships, and investment recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a book of business to meet and exceed performance hurdles
  • Sources prospective clients, capitalizes on referrals, assesses customer needs, refers customers to the appropriate service provider, and executes highly customized solutions
  • Recommends investment products and services suitable for prospects and clients based on their objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences
  • Balances investment growth, referral activities, customer follow-up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and personal growth and development according to both a day-to-day and longer-term plan
  • Plans and manages resources (time, people, budget) to run a productive practice
  • Sets and maintains relationships with the management team and informs management of any circumstances requiring supervisory attention, review, or approval
  • Completes mandated training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education requirements

  • At least three years of full-time sales experience in increasingly challenging environments

  • Financial acumen gained through work experience is ideal
  • Proven ability to complete the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Investment Planning Course and the Financial Planning course
  • Ability to study a variety of topics and participate in developmental activities related to Merrill strategy, products & services, wealth management process, desk top technology, marketing consultative sales skills, and investment financial planning knowledge
  • Ability to complete the Financial Advisor Development Program and transition to a full Financial Advisor at the conclusion of the program

Pay

Compensation is tied to performance and includes a mix of base salary and commissions.

Schedule

1st shift (United States of America) - 40 hours per week
