Team Captain

Responsibilities

  • Motivate team members to achieve daily goals and KPIs.
  • Coach and develop line associates to improve performance.
  • Support company standards to ensure consistency in product creation.
  • Understand standards and make good decisions in critical situations.
  • Design and implement measurement systems to easily track and document productivity of production lines.
  • Play an active role in company lean initiatives.
  • Maintain line equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
  • Set up lines for production orders.
  • Support corporate ethics and standards, by example, and by directive.
  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals; measure progress and review with management regularly.
  • Ensure the operation is compliant with SOPs, proposed GMPs, and that procedures are adequately documented.
  • Support and involve in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Engage in proper use, care, and documentation of equipment and materials issued in work area.
  • Recommend equipment purchases to improve operations (e.g., reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead-times).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred with technical training in maintenance manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with One Point Lesson Plans, Standard Work Instruction, and other visual management tools.
  • Lean experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English to perform essential job functions.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, and database software).
  • Ability to effectively present information to upper management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Work Conditions

  • Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
  • Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required, and all personnel protective equipment is mandatory.
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, powders, dust, and other particles.
