Teaching Assistant - Preschool Early Intervention Program
About the role
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support preschool classrooms serving children ages 3–5 years. Our programs provide high-quality educational services to young children with diverse developmental needs, including autism, communication delays, physical disabilities, and other developmental differences.
Responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily instructional activities, classroom routines, and individualized learning opportunities.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children.
- Help children develop communication, social-emotional, cognitive, physical, adaptive, and pre-academic skills.
- Foster independence and positive peer interactions among children.
- Support children based on the needs of the program, which may involve working with individual children, small groups, or the entire classroom.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Experience supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities is preferred.
