About the role
The post is available from September 2026. It is designed to sustain and increase teaching capacity within Anatomy at the University of Aberdeen's Suttie Centre on the Foresterhill Healthcare Campus. The person appointed will join an enthusiastic, hard-working team led by the Regius Professor of Anatomy, Simon Parson.
Responsibilities
- Deliver teaching within Anatomy across MBChB, BSc, BDS, Physician Associate and Science programmes
- Contribute to a range of modern teaching opportunities, encouraging problem solving and understanding ahead of memorisation of anatomy
- Develop skills and contribute to teaching innovation and development
- Work with academic, technical, and professional services staff in the delivery of teaching programmes
Requirements
- Educated to Masters level (or equivalent qualification) in Anatomy or related subject such as Physiology or Medicine, OR to BSc (Hons) level with experience relevant to this role and with cadaveric material
- Experience with cadaveric material
Qualifications
- Masters degree (or equivalent) in Anatomy or related subject (Physiology, Medicine), OR BSc (Hons) with relevant experience
Skills
- Undergraduate teaching experience (including dissection and laboratory practicals)
- Enthusiasm for teaching innovation and development (desirable)
Pay
Salary at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 scale, £33,002 - £36,636 per annum, pro rata, negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Schedule
This position is available on a fixed-term basis from 1 September 2026 to 30 May 2027.
