Required

• Ability to work with a diverse population of students
• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning
• Implement specialized instruction to students
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders
• Absorb and maintain record keeping
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments

Qualifications

• Only candidates holding NYS Teaching Assistant certification will be considered.
• Certification is required by the New York State Education Department.
• Specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject may be essential.
• Depending on the course, successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications may be required.
