Job Profile
The Teaching Artist - Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt position at Penn Live Arts involves conducting up to 4 pre-performance visits in K-12 schools to prepare students for the themes, techniques, and influences they will encounter in the theatre during Student Discovery Series performances.
Responsibilities
- Prepare developmentally appropriate, creative lesson plans of 45 minutes to 1.5 hours duration, drawing upon background information and materials associated with the performance and/or company.
- Conduct up to 4 pre-performance visits in K-12 schools to engage students in activities related to the themes and techniques of the performance.
- Work closely with classroom teachers and Penn Live Arts staff to develop the final schedule of visits.

Requirements
- Experience working with K-12 students.
- Background in theatre, arts education, or related field.
- Ability to prepare engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification preferred but not required.
- Experience with arts integration and curriculum development.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of theatre techniques and performance styles.
- Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning and presentation.
