Teachers of the Deaf (Tenure Track) 26-27 SY

About the role

Tenure track positions in the Lake Drive Program are available for teachers of the deaf with endorsement codes 2422 and/or 2423, along with either Pre-K - 3 or K - 6 Elementary School Certification from the NJDOE. Required certifications include Teacher of the Deaf with Sign Language Communication Certification or Teacher of the Deaf with Oral/Aural Communication Certification, and NJDOE Subject Matter (K-12) or Grade Level Certification (Elementary K-6).

Responsibilities

• Teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Implement educational programs that support communication and academic development
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support
• Maintain records and report student progress as required
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

• Master's degree in Education or related field
• Valid New Jersey teaching certificate in Teacher of the Deaf
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Knowledge of sign language and/or oral/aural communication methods
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
