About the role
The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) seeks qualified teachers to support students in an Extended Year Program. SEZP combines district-based public education with flexible autonomous school models, focusing on improving student outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Keep student attendance records and follow up with absenteeism
- Provide timely information to families and students
- Prevent regression through academic and/or gross motor and/or social skills instruction as outlined in the students’ IEPs
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated
- Assume responsibility for the office and clerical work associated with this Extended Year Program
- Communicate student attendance and retention of skills during the Extended Year program to the students’ 2024-2025 schools
- Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as needed
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Coordinator or AP of this summer program
Qualifications
- Possess DESE license (Moderate Disabilities PreK-8 or 5-12) or qualify for licensure waiver
- Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed
- Facility in implementing students’ IEPs to meet their individual needs
- Ability to manage classroom staff and work with other professionals to provide a quality educational experience
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff pool
Benefits
