Overview
This message is focused on less traditional teachers. These candidates may not have training as teachers but may love working with children and making a difference in the lives of families. The Goddard School offers them the support they need to change their career to early childhood education.
About the role
Less traditional teachers will be provided with training and support to become certified early childhood educators. They will work closely with experienced staff to develop lesson plans and engage with children aged 2 to 6 years old.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute group activities
- Assess children's progress and communicate with parents about their development
Requirements
- A passion for working with children
- Experience working with children, even if not formal teaching experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college coursework in early childhood education or related field preferred
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of child development stages
