About the role
Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Maryland Early Learning Standards (MELS) and The Creative Curriculum.
Foster children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
Conduct child observations, assessments, and maintain accurate documentation and portfolios.
Use assessment data to individualize instruction and support children's learning goals.
Lead and supervise classroom staff while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Promote positive behavior guidance and effective classroom management strategies.
Ensure compliance with MSDE licensing, health, safety, and program requirements.
Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress and conduct parent conferences.
Collaborate with administration and teaching staff to support program quality and school readiness goals.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.
Prepare children for kindergarten through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
Requirements
Applicants must have strong classroom leadership, communication, and family engagement skills and meet MSDE Lead Teacher qualifications by meeting one of the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- A bachelor’s degree from another country, verified as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree
- A bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field, along with experience or qualifications in Early Childhood Education
- A minimum of 3 years experience as a lead teacher for pre-kindergarten children using any MSDE approved curriculum.
- Meets MSDE Office of Child Care Lead Teacher qualifications.
- Knowledge of Maryland Early Learning Standards (MELS).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Minimum: $55000
Maximum: $65000
