About the role
This posting creates a pool of candidates for future positions that may become available.
Responsibilities
- Plans, prepares and delivers lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials to students in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Presents, demonstrates and uses various educational technologies to aid in sharing subject matter to students.
- Provides an atmosphere and safe environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of children.
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and supervises students in a variety of school-related settings.
- e.g. field trips, extra-curricular activities, etc.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities. Alerts appropriate staff if machines are in need of service or repair.
- Keeps attendance and grade records as required by Board Policy/Administrative Regulation.
- Prepares, administers and evaluates all required formative and summative assessments.
- Counsels pupils when academic and adjustment problems arise.
- Convenes and participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary.
- Serves on school-based committees or teams.
- Attends and actively participates in professional learning opportunities related to technology and engineering education, staff/faculty meetings; and provides input regarding the planning of instructional goals, methods, and student learning objectives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
- Experience: One (1) year experience with virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, Learning Management Systems, and video conferencing tools, if assigned to Virtual Academy required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge: Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives with special emphasis on teaching techniques; Knowledge of materials in field of specialization; Knowledge of current trends and research in field of specialization.
- Skills: Ability to safely manage a dynamic classroom and prototyping lab; Knowledge of the safe use of tools, machines and specialized equipment; Ability to effectively speak, write, and communicate; Ability to deal effectively with students, staff and parents; Knowledge of and proficiency in engineering areas of instruction; Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software; Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations; Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
