Position Summary

This Teacher position serves as the expert technical resource for other agency staff and institution staff involved in the design and implementation of the tattooing program. This position will provide necessary instruction to complete the tattooing program; prepare students for Wisconsin licensure, set up, maintain equipment and supplies, evaluate students and maintain classroom control, and adhere to all DOC, WSPF, and Wisconsin Administrative Standards, Policies, and Procedures.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with a starting pay of $29.13/hour - $35.77/hour, plus excellent benefits. Candidates may receive supplemental pay, up to $2.97/hr., for additional credits relevant to the position that are over & above the credits needed for certification. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship).
  • The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
  • The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
  • Remote work is not an option for this position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Per Wis. Admin. Code § SPS 221.04, all tattooing and body piercing activities must occur in a licensed establishment.
  • Current license in WI.
  • Qualifications

    Minimally qualified applicants will have:
