About the role

The Classroom Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. As a Special Education Teacher at the Wetherbee School, your expertise will enrich the academic lives of students.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in the classroom by consistently and thoughtfully motivating students to work hard and want to learn.
• Design, implement, and collaborate on high-quality shared curricula incorporating research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
• Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals, and provide specific, actionable feedback on progress toward academic goals.
• Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
• Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.

Requirements

• Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the appropriate area.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficient in English.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Skills

• Prior experience teaching in this area preferred.
• Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
• Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students.

Pay

Salary range: $59,988.00–$91,857.91, aligned with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
