About the role
The Therapeutic Intervention Program (TIP) Teacher provides specialized instruction for students with significant emotional impairments, or related social-emotional disabilities, in a self-contained classroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
- Provides therapeutic interventions to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Collaborates with other special education teachers, therapists, and administrators to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Monitors students' progress and adjusts instructional methods as needed to meet their unique needs.
- Participates in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
- A valid Massachusetts teaching license with a special education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with emotional impairments or related social-emotional disabilities.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
