About the role

The Therapeutic Intervention Program (TIP) Teacher provides specialized instruction for students with significant emotional impairments, or related social-emotional disabilities, in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
  • Provides therapeutic interventions to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Collaborates with other special education teachers, therapists, and administrators to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Monitors students' progress and adjusts instructional methods as needed to meet their unique needs.
  • Participates in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
  • A valid Massachusetts teaching license with a special education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with emotional impairments or related social-emotional disabilities.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Experience with data collection and analysis to evaluate student progress.

Schedule

The TIP Teacher works a standard school schedule, including summers, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
