About the role

All candidates should have experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities in both inclusive and separate settings.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and co-teaching
• Participation in the SRBI process, PPTs, and parent conferences
• Writing IEPs in accordance with state and federal mandates
• Case managing several special education students
• Planning lessons for instructional assistants who work with specific students and groups of students
• Collaborating with support service providers

Requirements

• Connecticut Teaching Certificate #065, #165, #265 or the ability to qualify with appropriate endorsement(s)
• Expertise in curriculum sub-areas

Benefits

Children of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the District regarding their child.

Pay

In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.
