About the role
The teacher at McDowell Center for Children, a 28-bed Residential Treatment Center for adolescent boys ages twelve through seventeen, carries out professional duties as circumstances require and in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the Director of Education and CEO. Responsibilities include demonstrating curriculum knowledge, providing instructional services to students, assessing achievement effectively, and taking responsibility for professional development.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate curriculum knowledge and provide instructional services to students.
- Assess student achievement effectively.
- Take responsibility for professional development.
- Manage behavioral interventions using a variety of techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education required; Master’s degree in education preferred.
- Teaching certification or eligibility in the State of Tennessee is required.
- Experience in behavioral management using a variety of intervention techniques.
- Experience in Special Education is strongly preferred.
