About the Role
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification required for all Core Subjects EC-6 and ELAR 7-12
Skills
- Knowledge of assigned subjects
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

- Work with frequent interruptions
- Maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking, repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds daily)
Environmental Factors
- Work inside, may work outside
- Regular exposure to noise
- May work prolonged or irregular hours
- Occasional districtwide travel
