About the Role

Hermitage Hall, a licensed psychiatric residential treatment hospital for children and youth in Middle Tennessee, is seeking a licensed Teacher to join our team. Located southwest of downtown Nashville, we provide a therapeutic, family-oriented work environment with over 130 dedicated employees.

Responsibilities

  • Plan curriculum, create classroom schedules, and prepare lessons and instructional materials tailored to individual student needs, including those with IEPs, in alignment with state and school requirements.
  • Support students with special healthcare needs and assist in developing daily living and behavioral skills.
  • Develop and implement behavioral objectives by reviewing referral and assessment data.
  • Establish, monitor, and document goals and objectives for individual student needs with assistance from the treatment team.
  • Administer standard classroom procedures, maintain current school records, and ensure confidentiality of all student records per program guidelines.
  • Provide line-of-sight supervision of assigned students and maintain a structured environment to ensure appropriate student involvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
  • Valid Tennessee Teaching License (required). A Tennessee Teaching Permit is acceptable if pursuing the license within three years of hire.
  • Special Education endorsement is preferred.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Must attend the two-week orientation classes, Monday through Friday.
  • Successful background check, fingerprinting, and employment verification are required.
