Teacher's Assistant (Paraprofessional)-DSA ES SOKC

Responsibilities

• Setting up the classroom for lessons, helping with materials, and keeping the classroom clean and organized
• Working with individual students and small groups, helping with special needs, and monitoring behavior
• Aiding in the planning and implementation of lesson plans and activities
• Helping to maintain order in the classroom, and intervening when necessary
• Communicating with the teacher about student needs, and attending meetings
• Participating in school activities, such as parent nights and home visits
• Assisting with meal preparation, including ordering food, cutting fruit and vegetables, and setting the table
• Assisting with basic cleaning duties, such as dusting, washing equipment, and cleaning painting boards

Requirements

• Having 48 college credit hours
• Paraprofessional Certificate from Oklahoma State Board of Education
• Take and Pass the Paraprofessional Test with at least a Bronze Level
