Teacher's Assistant

About the Role

A typical day for a Teacher's Assistant includes working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment. You will engage with children in learning through reading, playing, and having fun, and inspire them to be lifelong learners. You'll partner with families to nurture and care for their children, use an electronic daily tracking app, assist with accreditation and quality initiatives, and implement curriculum and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engage with children in learning activities such as reading, playing, and having fun.
• Inspire children to be lifelong learners.
• Partner with families to nurture and care for their children.
• Use an electronic daily tracking app.
• Assist with the accreditation process and other quality initiatives.
• Implement curriculum and assessments.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English; bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Pay

$16 an hour

Schedule

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We offer full-time and part-time positions with flexible schedules available.
