About the role
Our center at Nowell Academy follows the school year calendar. There are opportunities for work during school vacations and summer break. This position starts on August 31st.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Engaging with children in learning activities such as reading, playing, and having fun.
- Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.
- Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
- Showcasing tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
- Assisting with the accreditation process and other quality initiatives.
- Implementing curriculum and assessments.
Requirements
- Experience working with children.
- A warm and friendly personal demeanor.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Team-oriented and willing to work with others.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma (or equivalent).
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- At least 18 years old (for full-time positions).
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must pass a national criminal background/fingerprint check.
- Must pass a Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) clearance request (CPS).

Schedule
This position is part-time and offers flexible schedules:
- Mon-Fri from 7:45am-11:15am
- Mon-Fri from 11am-2:30pm
Pay
$16 per hour.
