Teacher's Assistant

About the Role

Teacher Assistants support the implementation of the center curriculum, guided by the early learning content standards, to develop lifelong learners in a professional, safe, and nurturing manner under the direction of the Teacher and Lead Teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of lesson plans aligned with early learning content standards and center curriculum.
• Maintain a clean and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Assist with developmental screenings using Ages & Stages tools.
• Support assessments using Teaching Strategy Gold.
• Engage in continual parent communication, including parent conferences and transition meetings.
• Understand and implement Step Up to Quality guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all monitoring agencies, including CACFP duties (e.g., kitchen cleaning).
• Foster positive involvement and communication with parents and families.
• Collaborate within the community.
• Meet each child’s individual needs with documentation (e.g., toileting).
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment to develop lifelong learners.

Requirements

• Complete all required initial trainings and course requirements, including 20 hours of Ohio-approved training biannually.
• Fulfill all apprenticeship requirements.
