About the role

The South Shore YMCA is seeking passionate, nurturing Teachers and Lead Teachers to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally enriching environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Create & Implement: Develop engaging lesson plans that support children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
• Nurture & Support: Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.
• Ensure Safety & Inclusion: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.
• Collaborate & Grow: Work with a team of educators to create a positive, cohesive classroom atmosphere.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child growth and development.
• Classroom experience is preferred but not required—we value dedication and a willingness to learn.
