About the role
Teach young children in a Pre-School setting in Fayetteville, NC. Ensure children’s safety and welfare, promote family engagement, and adhere to Federal Head Start Performance Standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor children, responding to crises and emergencies.
- Establish a positive classroom climate and guide children’s behavior.
- Implement a consistent daily schedule and engage children in various activities.
- Encourage language acquisition and promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Adapt curriculum to meet individual child needs and IEP goals.
- Utilize CLASS strategies to enhance learning environments.
- Communicate regularly with families and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
- Participate in integrated service meetings and coordinate with support staff.
- Document assessments, family contacts, and child progress.
- Monitor attendance and report child abuse.
- Attend and participate in training and professional development activities.
- Assist with break duties, food service, and bus monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant certifications and licenses.
- Complete a criminal background check and pass post-offer drug/alcohol tests.
Requirements
- Associate's or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services.
- Two to four years of related early childhood teaching experience.
- Current negative TB test and annual physical.
- First Aid, CPR, and First Aid/CPR certificates.
- A valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Pass a criminal background check and post-offer substance abuse tests.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination.
