About the role
Support young learners as they grow, explore, and develop in a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive, engaging, and enriching atmosphere for children through play and guided learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and families to support the social, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
- Implement curriculum that aligns with educational standards and best practices.
- Assess children's progress and communicate with parents/guardians on their child’s development.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
- A high school diploma plus 45 in-service hours in Early Childhood Development over a three-year period.
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Caring, patient, and nurturing with a genuine love for working with children.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and families.
- Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a classroom environment.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and participate in ongoing training.
- Completion of 10 hours of approved Step Up To Quality training annually.
- Ability to follow ODJFS licensing rules and school guidelines.
Qualifications
- Child Development (CD) classes must be renewed every 3 years.
