About the role
The role involves providing educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including curriculum development, classroom management, and collaboration with families and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and support for students.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learning styles and needs.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and program effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
- Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Knowledge of sign language and/or assistive listening devices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (if required).
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
