Responsibilities

  • Conducting speech and language re-evaluations for special education students
  • Delivering individual and group speech-language services in either the therapy and/or classroom, as per student Individualized Education Program (IEP) mandates
  • Maintaining accurate records, session notes, Medicaid related documents, and data collection documents
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents and component school districts
  • Maintaining communication with and providing required documentation to supervisor
  • Participating in staff meetings and staff development workshops
  • Performing all responsibilities assigned by the appropriate program administrator and/or supervisor

Requirements

  • New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification: Speech and Language Disabilities
  • New York State Speech Language Pathology License is preferred
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products
