Teacher (Montessori Borealis)

Part-time position (.25 FTE) available starting August 2026 at Montessori Borealis (Dzantik'i Heeni Building).

About the role

Spanish Teacher responsible for full implementation and teaching of a Montessori multi-grade level adolescent classroom. Will work cooperatively with school staff to implement a cohesive program. Responsible for implementing program description, diversity plan, and program evaluation in line with school district policy, procedure, and school board direction. Will support Montessori education for parents, teaching staff, and administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
• Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) training and certification/diploma, 6-12 (grades 1-6). (Copy of diploma required with application.)
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate with Spanish endorsement, or closely related field.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education preferred.
• Experience teaching at the middle school level.
• Experience teaching middle school Spanish.
• Experience teaching in an AMI Montessori environment and working with parents, parent boards, school boards, and administration.
• Experience in team or cooperative teaching.
