About the Role
- Small class sizes (6-8 students)

- Comprehensive paid training provided to the selected candidate
- Intersession leave – 40 days off per year; 186 student days
- Additional personal and sick leave
- No study hall or lunch supervisory responsibilities
- Work location: Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility, Massillon, OH
- Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
Responsibilities
- Assess educational needs of youth and develop/implement lesson plans, including individualized assignments
- Provide instruction with individual assistance
- Counsel students concerning performance, behavior, and personal problems
- Organize and/or monitor extracurricular activities if assigned
Requirements
- Must successfully obtain a Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment
- Pay and education requirements by role:
- Teacher 1: Baccalaureate degree or less; starting pay $68,723
- Teacher 2: Baccalaureate degree + 20 additional quarter hours (less than a master’s degree)
- Teacher 3: Master’s degree
- Teacher 4: Master’s degree + 30 hours of post-graduate study
